A man has been detained under the mental health act after his arrest following a serious assault in Ribbleton, Blog Preston understands.
Police were called to Ribbleton Hall Drive, close to Moor Nook Community Primary School, at 6.15am yesterday (12 March) following reports of an assault.
Officers arrested a topless man, now understood to be a 30-year-old white British man, at the scene of the incident, where blood had been left across the pavement.

A man who officers believe is in his 50s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. His condition is described as ‘very poorly’.
An investigation into the incident yesterday is ongoing, police have confirmed.
