A father-of-two has been sent to jail for almost four years over a shocking road rage attack in a car park in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Clinton Shawn McKenna deliberately reversed his Kia sedan into Mark Adams in the car park of Dan Murphy’s Carine in June 2022 as an argument over a car spot quickly escalated.

The father-of-two drove off, leaving his victim bleeding with a fractured spine, his scalp ripped from his skull.

Almost three years on, Adams is still haunted by the ideal.

“I see the Kia badge a few times a weeks in my dreams,” he said, outside court.

“I’d never seen somebody so angry. He was so so angry.”

Adams, 55, was “completely exposed” and “vulnerable”, bent over trying to save his dog, when he was hit, CCTV shows.

His dog survived, but it’s a moment that changed his life.

“It’s affected the way I am around people,” Adams said.

“I was a really social person and now I’m sort of, I’m sure I look like a weirdo to plenty.”

McKenna is married with two young children.

The court heard he suffered from PTSD and was “beside himself” over “not being with his children”.

Today he was jailed for three years and nine months.

The judge labelled the argument in the car park “childish”, slamming McKenna’s decision to drive off as “selfish” and saying it would’ve been “utterly horrifying” to watch.

“I don’t know where I’m at, I need help,” Adams said.

“I’m going to see someone and sort it out, try and work it out, I guess. I just want it to go away.”

McKenna could be eligible for parole in less than two years.
