
Chris Higham, who was born in Ribbleton and now lives in Penwortham, has written a cookbook in honour of her late son, Peter.
Her son, Peter, who committed suicide in 2015, was a catapult for her “post-war recipe cookbook.”
Chris partnered up with the Tesifa FPCT trust in Tanga, Tanzania to create a safe home for children.
Their partnership wishes to bring reality and a future to children who have “no hope” in the East African country.

Preston born, Chris recounts her childhood saying her parents: “Often struggled to put food on the table.” however always knowing she was loved.
She shifts her focus to less fortunate people in Tanzania, to build eco-friendly homes for more families to find wholeness and peace.

Following her partnership with the charity, in 2024, a development of a farm in Tanzania was made to help the families.
She said: “The little we give to this project in Tanzania, goes a very long way to make a huge difference in these precious lives.
“We can only change our world, one life at a time, but you never know the next child we help could one day change a nation or the world.”
