A Preston band are throwing a launch party for their debut EP.

dead things are a three-piece made up of Sic Turtle on guitar/vocals, Gang Fish on bass/vocals, and Ray Gun on drums.

They describe themselves as ‘a powerhouse embracing the grit of garage rock, while flaunting fractured riffs and infectious melodies’.

With influences listed as The B-52s, Bikini Kill, Beastie Boys, and The Fall, dead things’ catalogue of post-punk ditties includes chilling tales of old Lancashire and horror movie final girls.

The band has only been going for a year, but in that time have been named single of the week in Louder than War and have had airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music. Their first single on vinyl sold out in five minutes, while a re-press sold even faster.

The new EP, Rum Do, is being released on CrackedAnkles. The launch party will take place on Friday 4 April from 7.30pm at The Ferret, with support coming from Filthy Dirty and Tits Up.

The event is pay-what-you-want (minimum £1), and the first 50 people in get a free drink and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Cracked Hamper.
