
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an assault that caused the victim serious injuries and left blood across the pavement.
Police were called to Ribbleton Hall Drive, next to Moor Nook Community Primary School, at around 6.15am to reports of an assault.
A man who officers believe is in his 50s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. His condition is described as ‘very poorly’.

Graphic footage seen by Blog Preston shows topless a man, who we understand to be White British man in his 30s despite rumours circulating online, being arrested by officers after the incident.
Det Insp James Weatherby, of Preston CID, said:” This assault has left a man with some very significant injuries, and he remains in a poorly condition in hospital.
“While we have made an arrest our enquiries are still at a very early stage. I would appeal to anyone who has any information or footage which could help us piece together exactly what has happened to get in touch.”
A cordon is still in place and the school is expected to be closed for the rest of the day.
