
A silver BMW sustained heavy damage after its driver was involved in a one-car crash on the M6.
The incident happened on the southbound carriageway on Sunday afternoon (6 April) close to junction 33.
There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash and no other vehicles involved. Police said that the driver provided a breath sample that showed they were over three times the legal alcohol limit.

A spokesperson for police said: “This is the result of drink driving from a road traffic collision earlier this afternoon on the M6 southbound near to J33.
“Fortunately no serious injuries and no other vehicles involved. Although, the driver provided a roadside breath sample more than 3x legal alcohol limit.”
There are some delays on the M6 southbound between junction 33 and 32, although much of the earlier congestion has cleared.
