A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a gag order restraining all parties in the suit filed by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and three others from making public comments or speaking to the press about the ongoing legal matter.

Justice Binta Nyako, who presided over the case, made the ruling on Friday after a complaint raised by Akpabio’s lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), who alleged that the plaintiff had been granting media interviews on various television platforms concerning the case.

In her brief ruling, Justice Nyako warned that both the parties and their legal representatives must refrain from granting press interviews related to the case. She also barred the live streaming of court proceedings on social media or any other digital platforms.
