A man has been charged as police investigate reports of a rape in Lostock Hall.
South Ribble Police were called just after midnight on Thursday 17 April to the Sephton Street area.
They received reports a woman had been taken in a car to the road off Watkin Lane and raped after being threatened with a knife while in the Leyland area.
Police say they later received a report of a man breaking into a property in Preston.
Neil Reid, 43, of Towngate, Leyland is to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (19 April) morning charged with rape, kidnap, threatening a person with a bladed article and attempted robbery.
Police say the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.

<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.meteomedia.com/fr/nouvelles/meteo/previsions/un-gros-joueur-meteo-sous-haute-surveillance-pour-le-week-end" target="_blank">The Weather Network</a>, this weekend's storm could last from Saturday to Monday and is expected to hit the southern part of the province the hardest. Current forecasts suggest 10 to 15 cm of snow could fall on Greater Montreal on Saturday, followed by over 20 mm of rain on Sunday and Monday.</p><p>"The atmospheric conditions are ideal for a messy weather cocktail in southern Quebec. Cold air is firmly in place to the north, while warm air is pushing up from the south," The Weather Network warns. "If the warm air manages to rise above while the cold air remains at the surface, it could result in significant amounts of freezing rain."</p><p>While it's still too early to determine the exact amounts of snow and rain, meteorologists are already warning Quebecers to brace for difficult road conditions and to stay cautious throughout the weekend.</p><p>In the meantime, you may want to retrieve your shovel and de-icing salt. </p><p><em>Love this?
