Motorists going between Longridge and Preston are set for an Easter gridlock.

Temporary lights have sprung back up at the Bluebell Way and Red Scar roundabout.

There were delays of more than an hour reported during the Monday (7 April) morning rush hour with traffic backed up along Preston Road through Grimsargh.

The lights are in place at the Red Scar roundabout through until Friday 18 April from the entrance of the roundabout to Millennium Way.

The works are being undertaken by Harlaxton and are part of long-running works to put in expanded electrical supplies for a new factory on the Roman Way Industrial Estate. There has been major traffic congestion throughout previous months – with traffic between Preston and Longridge regularly gridlocked.

Delays on Longridge Road are likely to be compounded by a road closure along Haighton Green Lane due to take place during Monday daytime. This is only due to be for one day on Monday 7 April as BT undertake pole testing.
