A man has been charged after two incidents of exposure were reported in Hoghton late last week.

Police were called last Friday (4 April) to reports a man had been seen exposing himself near to Brindle Lodge off Hoghton Lane. Officers attended and a number of enquiries were carried out to identify the suspect.

Then on Saturday afternoon (5 April) police were called to Hoghton Bottoms following reports a man had been seen exposing himself and that he had been detained by members of the public.

Police have now charged Anthony Hollingsworth, 36, of no fixed address, with two counts of exposure. He will appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court next month.

A spokesperson for police said: “On Sunday we told you that we had arrested a man as part of our investigation into incidents of exposure in Hoghton and we just wanted to give you the latest update.

“Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, we charged Anthony Hollingsworth, 36, of no fixed address, with two counts of exposure. He has been remanded into custody until his next appearance at Preston Magistrates’ Court on 30th May.”
