Police were out in Liverpool Road in Longton, Liverpool Old Road in Much Hoole and Brownedge Road in Lostock Hall.

The operation in Brownedge Road comes after Blog Preston reported on those living nearby have been campaigning for traffic calming measures as they say the road is being used a ‘race-track’ by drivers.

Neighbourhood inspector for South Ribble, John Scott, said: “My team carries out operations like this regularly. During this one, it was concerning that whilst officers were dealing with offending drivers on Liverpool Old Road, vehicles continued to go past at concerning speeds so we want to remind people that Liverpool Old Road is a 30mph limit until the national speed signs.

“We will continue to tackle the issues that matter most to our communities. The best way to let us know your concerns, including those about road safety, is to fill in our Lancashire Talking survey. Residents can do this by visiting survey.stayintheknow.co.uk.”
