Men across Preston and beyond are being urged to walk at dawn for mental health as Lancashire Mind launches its first-ever Sunrise Walk.
The 8km walk, taking place on Friday (4 April), will start at 5am from Rivington Brewing Co.
The event is designed to give men the chance to come together, get active, and start conversations about mental wellbeing in a relaxed, supportive environment.
The event, hosted by Lancashire Mind in partnership with Farleys Solicitors, Six Connections, and Fresh Walks, aims to encourage open discussions among the stunning landscapes of Rivington and surrounding areas.
David Dunwell, CEO of Lancashire Mind, explained why events like this are crucial.
David said: “There continues to be a disparity in the way men and women talk about their mental health and access services for their mental health. This puts men at much higher risk and is why suicide rates in males are higher.
“This event is about getting outside, connecting and doing something to show the importance of men’s mental health.”
Lancashire Mind is aiming to bring 100 men together for the free walk. The event will start and end at Rivington Brewing Co, Home Farm, Horrobin Lane, PR6 9HE.
