Preston sports fan Joel Lucas has raised more than £300 in a boxing match for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Joel, 30, boxed his first ever match last month at Deepdale Stadium in thanks for the charity’s treatment of his father-in-law.
Having only running, skiing and tennis experience, Joel took on ultra white-collar boxing, a type of boxing designed for people with little to no prior experience.

His wife Rio whose dad, Martin is currently being treated for prostate cancer at Rosemere Cancer Foundation, cheered him on from ringside.

Joel said: “Martin was diagnosed about a year-and-a-half-ago and has spoken of how the support he has received from those looking after him at Rosemere Cancer Centre has helped no end, even giving him a much better mind set.
“The fight was my way of saying thank you.”
Following three rounds of 30 seconds, the match ended with Joel victorious.
