Meanwhile, Lynx Airlines shut down last year, and WestJet absorbed budget carrier Swoop Airlines into its main operations in 2023. </p><p>Aviation expert John Gradek from McGill University <a href="https://www.ctvnews.ca/toronto/consumer-alert/article/play-airlines-ceasing-operations-in-canada-leaving-passengers-unsure-of-what-comes-next/">told CTV News</a> in January that Canada hasn't exactly been a welcoming market for ultra low-cost carriers like French bee.
