A seven-year-old girl from Grimsargh has just published her first book.
Jessica Nuttall released the book “Storm’s Big Feelings – A day at School” on Amazon, this month as she aims through the character “Storm” to help young readers learn to recognise, understand and manage emotions.
Her curiosity for writing began when she asked her mum, Laura, six months ago, “how do people make real books?”

Illustrated by Aklima Monnaf and written by Jessica, her mum said she is not currently in the process of writing any more books as of yet.
Laura told Blog Preston: “Jessica has always loved to read books and is a very talented writer for her age.
“We are so proud of Jessica’s achievement as parents we have always taught Jessica to achieve something all she has to do is believe in herself.
“This project has achieved a life lesson to Jessica, and we will always support and encourage her on her writing journey.”
She said the writing process of the book was kindly supported by local children’s book author, Joanne Moore “guiding them through the process.”

Joanne Moore said: “It’s been a joy working with Jessica and helping her publish her first book.
“As a children’s author myself, it’s been incredibly rewarding to support her through the self-publishing process. “
She added: “I can’t wait to see where this creative journey leads her.”
Jessica will be hosting her first official book launch at Grimsargh field day on 28 June, where she will sell her books to the public. You can also get it on Amazon here.
