Hours of congestion is expected on the M6 northbound due to an earlier crash.
Emergency services continue to work at the scene on the M6 northbound between junction 31 and junction 32 after a closure was put in place following a crash at around 5.45am this morning (15 May).
An earlier closure has now partially lifted and traffic is moving but significant delays remain. Traffic England is warning that those delays won’t ease completely until around midday.
There are currently delays of 40 minutes against expected traffic and three of the lanes remain closed.
Blog Preston has contacted Lancashire Constabulary for more information regarding the incident itself.
There are delays on the M61 northbound where it joins the M6 and a knock-on effect is visible around central Lancashire with delays on Higher Walton Road, London Road, the A59 and Garstang Road.
