AN INJURY update has been revealed on New York Yankees third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera, who suffered a horrific injury late in the team’s Monday night win over the Seattle Mariners.

Cabrera was taken off the field in an ambulance and rushed to the hospital in an ambulance due to a serious leg injury in the ninth inning of the Yankees‘ 11-5 win at T-Mobile Park.

The Yankees were up 10-5 and had the bases loaded when Cabrera tagged up from third base on Aaron Judge’s bases-loaded fly ball to left field.

Mariners’ right field Randy Arozarena’s was off-line and short of the plate, and Cabrera avoided the tag from catcher Cal Raleigh.

However, the third baseman passed home plate and twisted his left ankle in the process.

After Cabrera touched home plate and scored the run, he fell to the ground in pain as trainer Tim Lentych immediately rushed to tend to the 26-year-old.

Lentych embraced Cabrera while he lay on the ground as other medical personnel tended to his left foot.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Judge, and other players surrounded Cabrera as an ambulance was called for him.

Cabrera was put onto a stretcher and placed into an ambulance, which drove him off the field as the crowd cheered for the seriously hurt player.

After the game, Boone said Cabrera had a brace placed on his left ankle before he entered the ambulance on a stretcher.

He was taken to a nearby hospital with Lentych.

“I think everyone understands it was a pretty serious situation,” Boone said, per ESPN.

“So just praying our guy tonight and hoping for the best.

“Trust that he’s in good hands as he goes through the night here.”

Judge shared that Cabrera had asked him if he scored before being put inside the ambulance, and the two-time MVP said yes.

MLB fans sent their best wishes to Cabrera, who’s known to be a bundle of joy since he became a big-leaguer in 2022.

“Hoping Oswaldo Cabrera is going to be OK. He is such a nice kid. I can’t remember seeing an ambulance on the field to take a player off. Awful to watch,” one wrote.

“My heart is absolutely shattered for Oswaldo Cabrera. Praying for him,” another commented.

“Oswaldo Cabrera played anywhere and everywhere the Yankees asked him too, and he always did it with a smile. Absolutely gutted for the guy, and hoping he has a speedy recovery,” a third added.

Cabrera is expected to have suffered a season-ending ankle injury, but there has yet to be an official update on his situation.

He’s in his fourth season in the MLB and has been a regular in the Yankees’ lineup in 2025.

This season, Cabrera is hitting .243 with one home run and 12 RBIs.
