A wildlife rescue centre in Ribchester says it cannot take in any more animals unless much needed funds are raised.

Brambles Wildlife Rescue was founded by Mel and Justin Greenhalgh and provides rehabilitation and release for poorly animals.

However, it claims it cannot take in any more animals this month as funds are so tight.

In a statement on its Facebook page it says: “We need help, Bramblers. We have 8,300 followers of this rescue. If everyone donated 12p each month we would cover our bills without any need to ask for help or worry if we’ll cover everything.

“As things stand, Bramblers, we won’t have funds to take any further admissions during May, sadly, as we haven’t yet raised the funds to cover the bills for our existing 25 patients in our care.

“It would be lovely if we didn’t need to ask for help or worry about covering the bills each month but unfortunately we just don’t raise what is needed from ad-hoc donations in a month.”

The charity has set up a JustGiving page where people can donate, or more information is available on its Facebook page.

They added: “Our work is entirely voluntary, seven-days-a-week, 365 days-a-year to prevent euthanasia and suffering of wildlife that have the potential to recover from illness, injury and suffering.”
