A major route in Preston is closed after a crash involving three vehicles.

Preston Police and emergency services remain at the scene in Tag Lane, Ingol.

The road is closed from the Guild Merchant roundabout by the BP garage through to Tanterton Hall Road.

The crash took place shortly after 11am on Thursday (8 May).

A police spokesperson confirmed to Blog Preston the road remained closed.

Eyewitnesses have told Blog Preston two vans and a car were involved in the crash.

One person said: “I thought a jet was coming down the road and then an almighty crash happened.”

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had cut three people free from the vehicles involved.

Crews from Fulwood and Penwortham were on the scene for around three hours.

Preston Bus is diverting the 35 and 44 services as a result of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 0415 of 8 May.
