Cheerleading squad made homeless during pandemic find new base

A cheerleading team who lost their base during the pandemic now have a new home.

The cheer group, Infinity Cheer based in Leyland went from 200 members to over 400, from an increase of popularity and ability to invite more cheerleaders in due to the bigger space.

Their bigger team and new space has provided them with new achievements and upcoming opportunities.

In early May, the club attended the Summer Showdown competition held by Cheer City in Warwick.

The team’s star cheerleaders included Solar, who achieved “hitting zero” with no deductions or routine faults and the highest ever scoring routine at Infinity Cheer.

The Solar cheer team were awarded an Allstar Worlds Bid to compete in Florida in 2026.

Solar team teacher Sian Thorley, said: “We are so proud of them and we can’t wait to explore this new journey with them.”
