A Longridge pub crawl which aims to help people make new connections while also tackling social isolation will take place this Saturday (7 June).
Meeting at the Old Oak pub, Preston Road, at midday the event has been organised by Longridge resident Dan Shaw.
Dan, who was lived in Longridge for the past 18 months, sees the event as an opportunity to bring people together in a relaxed social setting. With so many people having moved to Longridge in recent times as the town has grown, she believes this is the excuse many could be looking for to form new friendships and become part of the community.

She said: “I am really interested to see who turns up and it’s a real opportunity for people to meet up in a setting that reduces their social anxiety and allows them to take that courageous first step to meet new people.
“So many people have moved to Longridge in recent years but still do not know anyone and do not have that network. This will hopefully allow them to make new connections and learn more about what this great town is all about.”
While Dan is also the founder Suicide Awareness Prevention UK, she said this event was not formally linked to the organisation. However, the underlying principles of making connections with other people were at the heart of what she hoped the pub crawl would be about.
