Over 2,000 homes in an area of Preston are currently without power due to what is being described as an ‘unexpected incident’.
Properties in the Cottam, Ingol and Higher Bartle areas can expect to be without power until around 10pm this evening (22 June) if they are affected, according to Electricity North West.
The incident was first reported at around 7pm and there are an estimated 2,097 properties without electricity.

A number of more rural properties in the Inskip area are also affected.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: “This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to your home or business.
“We didn’t know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.”
