Mahomes is an investor in the Royals, and he keeps close tabs on his team’s success.
Due to his involvement in the team, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback knows all about top prospect Jac Caglianone.
When he heard that Caglianone was being promoted, he couldn’t contain his excitement.
“Oh my god! Okay, it’s happening!” he said through a gif on X.
Caglianone is one of the most exciting baseball prospects in recent memory, and has been raking in the minor leagues.
Currently ranked as the No. 10 prospect in all of baseball, Caglianone was playing too well to not make his way to the major leagues.
In 50 games this year, he is hitting .322 with 15 home runs, 56 RBI, and 41 runs scored.
Those numbers would be the most by far of any player on the Royals’ major league roster.
Despite having a 31-29 record, the Royals are in fourth place in the American League Central division.
They are also one game out of a Wild Card spot.
Caglianone should give them an offensive boost to try getting past the Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays ahead of them.
The Royals are currently one of the worst offenses in the league, scoring just 194 runs.
That is tied for second-to-last in all of baseball.
In comparison, the Los Angeles Dodgers have scored the most runs in baseball with 343.
Caglianone is set to be a spark plug for the Royals, and other fans are joining Mahomes in sharing their excitement for his debut.
“Cant wait to see dude ball out,” one fan said.
“Kid has such a bright future ahead of him,” another fan said.
“Him and Whitt are gonna be such an electric duo man,” a third fan said.
