Plans have been submitted that could see up to 350 new homes at the site of a derelict theme park.
Story Homes revealed last month that they had intended to bring a new housing estate to the site of the former Camelot Theme Park at Charnock Richard.
The theme park closed in 2012 and has been derelict ever since, with photographers viewing the site as a compelling subject on a number of occasions due to its abandoned nature.

But the new plans would see up 350 new homes, with 50% classed as affordable, and the creation of a new community hub which could be used by local groups and also for co-working.
Siobhan Sweeney, North West land manager for Story Homes, said: “We are excited to bring forward plans for this significant development on a well-known local site. Our proposal not only addresses the strong demand for high-quality, affordable homes in Chorley, but also places emphasis on sustainability and community investment.
“Through the delivery of affordable homes, investment in green infrastructure, and the creation of new community spaces, we’re committed to ensuring that this scheme supports local people and enhances the wider area.”

As part of the plans, Story Homes plans to decultivate a section of Syd Brook to restore water flow.
Chorley Council will ultimately make any decision on whether the plans are greenlit. They will be discussed at a later date.
