The investment firm Blackstone has confirmed that one of its senior executives, Wesley LePatner, was killed in a tragic shooting incident on Park Avenue.
In a statement released by the company, Blackstone expressed profound grief over the loss, describing LePatner as “a beloved member of the Blackstone family” who “will be sorely missed.”
“She was brilliant, passionate, warm, generous, and deeply respected within our firm and beyond. She embodied the best of Blackstone,” the statement said.
The firm extended its condolences to LePatner’s family, adding, “Our prayers are with her husband, children and family. We are also saddened by the loss of the other innocent victims as well, including brave security personnel and N.Y.P.D.”
The incident occurred near Blackstone’s office at 345 Park Avenue, though further details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately provided.
Law enforcement officials are continuing investigations into the fatal shooting.
