
Preston’s now infamous potato tram will be the hot topic at this month’s city council planning committee.
The Spud Brothers – TikTok sensations SpudBros – have applied to put in place a pair of temporary shipping containers on Preston’s historic Flag Market – replacing their current tram.
Jacket potatoes have been traded on the site since the 1950s the decision – which is recommended for approval – will be voted on by councillors.

The meeting, from 2pm at Preston Town Hall on Thursday (3 July), will also see the controversial Swainson House Farm plans in Goosnargh back on the agenda with 95 homes on a former farm in the village set for rejection for a third time.
While the fate of the Tithebarn pub will see its latest plot twist, after being eyed up for demolition the revised plans will be discussed about a partial demolition instead – for the side of the pub closest to the city’s Youth Zone.
