
A nursery in Ingol has been rated outstanding by Ofsted and praised for the way it enables children to thrive in an inclusive environment.
Building Blocks Childcare, Cottam Avenue, Ingol, was rated as outstanding in all areas of the inspection and its owner and manager, Wendy Keleghan, said the team was at the centre of the nursery’s success.
She added: “I am so proud of my team. The report is a lovely reflection of my nursery and its ethos in providing quality child care and education.”

The Ofsted report complimented managers and staff for creating a ‘very positive and highly inclusive environment where all children thrive’.
It went on: “There is an ethos of children learning through being deeply absorbed, exploring and their views being valued. Staff build strong bonds and get to know children extremely well.
“Leaders and staff are dedicated to their roles. They work tirelessly to provide the very best care and individualised education. Children become deeply absorbed in their play and learning, supported by an
ambitious and meticulously sequenced curriculum.”
According to the report, strong leadership within the nursery enables staff to ‘develop their superb quality of teaching even further’ and provide an ‘ambitious curriculum and create exciting environments to inspire children’s curiosity’.
“The nursery superbly demonstrates how high-quality early years education can improve outcomes for all children,” the report added. “The nursery’s reflective leadership, innovative teaching and firm commitment to each child’s well-being and development make it an exemplary model for other settings.
“The impact of the nursery’s work is evident in the confident, happy and well-prepared children who transition from its care.”
