A new agreement between Preston City Council and the Construction Industry Training Board has been confirmed.
The agreement, finalised at a formal award presentation in Preston, is aimed at committing to the use of the National Skills Academy Construction framework across the board.
It will see an opportunity for skills and employment through the local authority embedding the National Skills Academy for construction’s (NSAfC) principles and training strategies into its planning process.

Adding to their 400 previous projects across the UK, the newly agreed NSAfC framework will also enable partners to gain skills on time and has an aim to deliver consistent and high-quality training within a construction project.
Cllr Valerie Wise, cabinet member for Community Wealth Building at Preston Council, said: “We were proud to welcome the Construction Industry Training Board to Preston and delighted to receive the award that recognises our ongoing commitment to delivering social value through construction.

“By embedding the National Skills Academy for Construction benchmarks into our planning process, applicants are not only building homes and employment units but creating real opportunities for skills, employment, and community benefit.”
