
A shoplifter who stole bottles of alcohol from a Preston supermarket and was caught wielding a rock in a sock has been jailed.
Ben Riding was spotted on CCTV taking the bottles from Booths on Sharoe Green Lane on Thursday (17 July).
He was arrested by officers on Moor Lane in Preston two days later and when searched, he was carrying a rock concealed in a sock.

Riding, 37, of no fixed address was charged with three counts of theft from a shop and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at Preston Magistrates Court yesterday (21 July) where he pleaded guilty to the charges and was jailed for 10 weeks.
A spokesperson for police said: “Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.”
