A developer has brought forward plans to build 140 new homes in Longton.
Located off Chapel Lane and near to its Longton Grange development, the new plan from Story Homes will offer a mix of properties ranging from those with one to six bedrooms.
According to Story, more than half of the homes at Longton Grange are now sold and the developer says it is aiming to ‘build on the strong demand for high-quality homes in the area’.

Around 30% of the new homes will be classed as affordable and Story estimates the development will result in a £1.7m being given towards local services through Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contributions. It also says there will be benefits to local businesses during construction and to the wider community through the creation of public open space, including an equipped play area.
Josh Dobson-Brear, North West Land Manager for Story Homes, said: “We are excited to bring forward this new development, which will not only provide much-needed homes in Longton but also deliver significant benefits to the local community.
“Our previous development, Longton Grange, has been incredibly well received, with the majority of homes now sold, showing the strong demand for high-quality homes in this area. This new scheme will continue to meet that demand while enhancing the local community.
“In addition to high-quality housing, we are dedicated to improving local biodiversity and supporting the local economy through job creation and increased demand for services. By investing in this development, we are ensuring that Longton remains a fantastic place to live for both current and future generations.”
