Three Preston city centre venues are set to host an urban festival this summer.
Preston Pop Fest will take place at The Continental, The Ferret and Blitz on Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August.
The festival has been keenly awaited since the last edition in 2021, which sold out quickly and attracted fans from Europe and the USA.
Preston Pop Fest will feature some of the best indie-pop acts from across the UK. There will be two stages in The Continental on Friday evening, an all-day bill in The Ferret and an evening session at Blitz on Saturday, finishing with another all-day programme across two stages at The Continental on Sunday. In all, more than 40 acts will appear across the weekend, with very few clashes.
Headlining the Saturday night at Blitz will be much-loved Manchester group The Man from Delmonte. The band reformed earlier this year and went on to sell out three comeback shows. Pop Fest is the only remaining date in their diary this year.
The supporting cast at Blitz will feature rare sets from two more storied North West acts from the late 80s – Blackburn band Bradford and Manchester outfit The Train Set. Welsh band Melys, who topped John Peel’s Festive 50 in 2001, complete the line-up.

The rest of the weekend at The Continental and The Ferret features a veritable who’s who of the indie pop scene past and present including Nightingales, The Tubs, Desperate Journalist, Ex Void, The Cords, Would Be Goods, David Lance Callahan, The Room, Yaang, The Jasmine Minks, James King and the Lonewolves and The Yummy Fur, many of which are playing exclusively for Pop Fest.

Local acts include BBC 6 Music favourites British Birds from Chorley, plus Ginnel, Uhr and The Amber List, all from Preston.
Weekend tickets and day tickets are available online from WeGotTickets or in person with no booking fee from Action Records in Church Street.
