Parsons’ contract controversy took a turn last Friday when he publicly asked for a trade on social media.

Cowboys fans voiced out their disapproval with the feud as they chanted Parsons’ name at the team’s practice session on Monday.

During a sequence at the workouts in Oxnard, California, fans could be heard loudly chanting, “We want Micah!”

Jones was present at the practice as he could be seen looking shocked at the attendees’ chant.

Other fans brought signs demanding that Jones pay the two-time First-Team All-Pro.

And one attendee even brought a sign which read “sell the team!”

Parsons appeared at the practice and took part in the start of workouts, per ESPN.

However, the 26-year-old was not rocking his No. 11 jersey and wasn’t present with the defense during some drills.

After Saturday’s practice, Jones downplayed Parsons’ trade request and told fans not to “lose any sleep” over the drama.

“I think the world of Micah,” Jones told reporters.

“And that [request] is just a part of negotiation.”

The 82-year-old then spoke about the agreement the owner believed he had with Parsons in March but that the defensive end had later called off the offer.

In his written trade request on X, Parsons shared that the March conversation started with the pair talking about “leadership” before contract discussions began, and that he did not walk away from the talk thinking an official deal had been made.

Parsons then shared that the Cowboys haven’t talked to his agent, David Mulugheta.

“Unfortunately I no longer want to be here,” Parsons wrote.

“I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present.

“I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates.

“I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me.

“I had purposely stayed quiet in hopes of getting something done.”

Jones admitted he hasn’t been in contact with Mulugheta and gave his explanation, saying his “experience has been the agent is not the one that solves the problems you have when you’re executing what you said you would do in the contract.

“So I like to deal directly with the player when it’s of this nature.”

Parsons is looking to exceed the record-breaking $160 million deal that Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett received this offseason./

He will be earning $24 million this season due to his fifth-year option on his rookie contract being picked up.
