Mariah Carey seemingly missed the launch on Katy Perry’s voyage to space.
The music legend had quite the revelation while conducting an interview with Scott Mills on Radio 2 on Thursday morning.
During the conversation, Scott brought Katy into Mariah’s atmosphere and revealed that she had traveled to space – while asking the singer if she herself would “fancy” following suit.
“Did she go to space?” Mariah then questioned.
Back in April, Katy took a voyage beyond Earth’s atmosphere, on an all-female Blue Origin tourism flight. The news made headlines, and Katy reflected on it multiple times. However, all of that was apparently far out of Mariah’s orbit.
While the Honey singer was riddled with confusion, the host confirmed that Katy’s space trip did indeed happen – albeit “not for long.”
“Where did she go?” Mariah asked, with a puzzled look still firmly placed on her face, and even after the confirmation that she went into “orbit and back”, Mariah asked: “This is true?”
“I have not made this up,” Scott responded.
The Grammy winner celebrated her fellow performer’s achievement and stated: “I’m not mad at her. That’s pretty amazing.”
Scott then remarked that Katy “hasn’t stopped talking about it since”, and followed up by asking Mariah if she herself would make the trip to space.
“I think I’ve done enough,” she responded with a sly chuckle.
