LOYAL customers of the Golden Arches are noticing new menu restrictions at some locations – and they’re not loving it.

These new rules affect McDonald’s’ beloved dipping sauces.

According to a Reddit post, at least one McDonald’s location is limiting the amount of sauces you can get with varying orders of chicken nuggets.

The Redditor posted a picture of a sign that disclosed the following Sauce Policy:

  • 4-piece nugget: 1 sauce
  • 6-piece nugget: 1 sauce
  • 10-piece: 2 sauces
  • 20-piece nugget: 3 sauces
  • 40-piece nugget: 4 sauces
  • Each additional sauce will be charged

The post was titled “McDonald’s sauce policy is getting out of hand…”

And people took to social media to vent their frustration.

FAN FRUSTRATION

“You have to go out of your way to demand they give you some sauce or you get nothing,” one Redditor fumed.

“I’ve literally stopped ordering nuggets there it’s gotten so absurd,” the poster added.

While the sauce policy doesn’t universally apply to all locations, some people have noted different rules at specific spots.

“For us, the four, six and 20 piece have the correct amount of sauces,” another Redditor responded.

“The 40 piece on the other hand should be six sauces, not four.”

“My McDonalds gives away two free sauces, excluding the sauces that come with the nuggets.”

“After that they charge you $0.19 for every extra sauce,” the poster continued.

Another Redditor wrote, “20 should be four.”

A third Redditor chimed in, “Amazing they haven’t started to charge for the ketchup packets yet.”

The sauce-policy sightings come as McDonald’s earnings beat investor expectations, according to its latest earnings call report.

GET SAUCY

But McDonald’s dipping sauces are highly popular.

They generally come in the following variations.

  • Honey
  • Honey mustard
  • Tangy barbecue sauce
  • Sweet ‘n sour sauce
  • Hot mustard sauce
  • Creamy ranch sauce
  • Creamy chili McCrispy Strip Dip
  • Spicy Buffalo sauce

The chain has also released limited editions that have caused more than a stir.

To promote the hit Disney movie “Mulan” in 1998, McDonald’s released the Szechuan sauce

And it made a brief return in 2018 after it slithered its way back into pop culture through the popular TV show “Rick and Morty.”

But the Golden Arches underestimated how this ‘90s throwback was going to be received.

It sparked riots as supply diminished.

So it’s no surprise that customers would be outraged at policies limiting the chain’s beloved sauces.

But sauce isn’t the only thing McDonald’s has been cutting back on to the dismay of their fan base.

SOMETHING MISSING

The formerly discontinued Snack Wrap has returned to more than 1,000 locations nationwide and to the applause of many.

But some eagle-eyed customers say it’s not enough.

The current rendition of the popular snack features the Ranch Snack Wrap and the Spicy Snack Wrap.

But some customers complained that other versions were missing from the current line up.

“I loved the Big Mac snack wrap,” on Redditor posted.

“Unfortunately that wasn’t brought back.”

Another wrote, “I was originally excited about the return, until I found out that there wasn’t a grilled variation.”
