Walton Park residents will no longer need to travel to neighbouring areas for postal services as a new Post Office is set to open later this year for the first time.

The brand-new branch at SPAR Walton Park, 1-3 Millwood Road, will open its doors on Tuesday 18 November, at 1pm, just in time for the busy Christmas period.

A spokesperson for Post Office said services from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items and everyday banking, foreign currency, bill payments and top ups and Western Union money, will be available seven days a week.

Operating 53 hours a week from Monday to Friday 9am-6pm and weekends 9am-1pm, the service will feature the ‘modern local style’ design with a low-screened, open-plan Post Office service point carefully integrated into the SPAR retail counter.

The new branch aims to address a service gap to Post Office customers by extending the availability of Post Offices services in the area at Cinnamon Hill, Penwortham Lane and Lostock Hill.

Adam Shillcock, Post Office partner account manager, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.

“We know how important our services are to customers, and we are confident that this brand new Post
Office will ensure that people in the Walton Park area have easy access to our services.”
