There is an exciting mix of new releases this week, with Caught Stealing, The Roses, and The Toxic Avenger all joining cinema lineups across Preston.
Caught Stealing is a crime thriller with a twisted sense of humor starring Austin Butler. When Hank Thompson takes in a neighbour’s cat, he is not prepared for the hell it unleashes in his life as multiple criminal organizations take a special interest in his furry friend.
The Roses is a modern retelling of the classic novel, The War of the Roses, starring Olivia Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch. As a seemingly perfect couple falls apart, things get increasingly dramatic and tense in this outrageous comedy.
Finally, The Toxic Avenger starring Peter Dinklage is a remake of the 1984 cult classic. This superhero black comedy is unlike anything from the MCU or DCU, and it leans heavily into the grotesque and absurd. Which is likely why it’s only playing in The Arc Cinema and the Odeon. It may not be for everyone, but it is sure to captivate some audiences.
