Gladiators favourite Harry Aikines-Aryeetey has become the first star announced for this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Harry – known to fans of the BBC competition show as his alter-ego “Nitro” – confirmed the news as part of a prank on CBBC’s Newsround on Monday morning.
The former Olympic gold medallist had previously been heavily rumoured for last year’s series, and ended up competing in the 2024 Christmas special.
He enthused: “After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I’m so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I’m ready to give it all I’ve got.
“I’ll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let’s hope I’m as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track.”
