
Two people from the West Midlands have been arrested after thousands of pounds were discovered in a car on the M6.
Police stopped a grey Renault Kadja at around 7pm on Monday (11 August) at Charnock Richard Services on the M6 southbound.
The car, driver and passenger were searched and tens of thousands of pounds was discovered.

A 24-year-old man and 38-year-old woman from the West Midlands were arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
A spokesperson for police said: “Yesterday at just after 7pm, officers from our Roads Crime Team were on patrol along the M6 when they had reason to stop a grey Renault Kadjar at Charnock Richard Services on the M6 Southbound.
“The car, the driver and the passenger were searched under section 23 of the misuse of drugs act, following which officers found tens of thousands of pounds.
“The driver, a 24-year-old man, and passenger, a 38-year-old woman, both from the West Midlands, have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering.”
