Don Cressley, visiting from the Alaskan town of North Pole, said, “I wish Zelensky was here too, but I want this thing over. People are losing everything.” He praised Trump’s role in ceasefire efforts, calling it “awesome.”

Nearby, Anchorage resident Russell Wilson reflected on the historic nature of the event. “It’s the middle of everything,” he said while fishing at Ship Creek. “Russia’s our neighbor. It makes sense. I just hope something good comes out of it.”
