
A road in Ribbleton was closed by police after a serious assault that left the victim in hospital.
Police were called by the ambulance service shortly before 7pm on Sunday (31 August) to Shakespeare Road in Ribbleton.
A man in his 30s had been assaulted and suffered a deep cut to his arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and a 41-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both are in custody.
Part of Shakespeare Road and nearby Thompson Street were cordoned off while police investigated.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for police said: “We were called by the North West Ambulance Service at 6.58pm yesterday (31 August) to Shakespeare Road, Preston, to a report of assault.
“Our officers attended and found that a man in his 30s had been assaulted and suffered a laceration to his arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm and a 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders. Both are currently in custody.
“Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information, please contact 101, quoting log 0147 of 31st August.”
