
A 17-year-old boy has been charged by police after a serious assault that left a victim in hospital.
Police were called by the ambulance service shortly before 7pm on Sunday (31 August) to Shakespeare Road in Ribbleton.
A man in his 30s had been assaulted and suffered a deep cut to his arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and a 41-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 17-year-old boy has now been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article.
He was remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates Court on 2 September. He cannot be named due to his age.
The 41-year-old woman was released no further action.
Part of Shakespeare Road and nearby Thompson Street were cordoned off while police investigated.
