On Thursday, September 25, the sunset will occur in Bristol at exactly 19:01, while the following day, this happens at the terrifying time of 18:59. You won’t see the sun set this late again until March 29, 2026—when the arrival of daylight saving time means that the sunset will happen at 19:38.
Speaking of, the clocks will shift backwards by one hour next month (October 26, 2025), and the sunset will take place at 16:54. So count yourself lucky (for now) because the days are about to get a lot shorter and the nights a lot darker before life gets any brighter.
On October 23, Bristol will experience its last 6pm sunset of the year at 18:00, while on December 8, the sunset will happen at the earliest of 16:01—and that’s nothing! The shortest day of the year, aka winter solstice, will be 7 hours, 50 minutes and 11 seconds in Bristol, with sunrise at 08:13 and sunset at 16:03.
