M6 northbound delays remain after crash near Junction 33

Drivers on the M6 northbound are still seeing delays of more than half-an-hour after an earlier crash.

The motorway was closed between Junction 33 and Junction 34 leading to long tailbacks from Junction 32 (Broughton) northbound on the M6.

The M6 fully re-opened shortly before 11.30am on Monday (8 September). The crash involved two vehicles around 10.50am and was a ‘damage-only collision’ according to police.

Delays of up to 40 minutes are still being reported according to Traffic England with delays starting from just after the Junction 31A northbound exit.

A police spokesperson said: “There is still some residual traffic however that has built up and one lane is still closed at the location due to ongoing grass cutting at the location.”
