The M61 is closed near to the M6 with emergency services at the scene of a crash.
There is severe traffic between where the M6 joins the M61 and junction 9 on the M61 on the southbound carriageway after a crash.
Traffic England is reporting the cause of the crash is a medical emergency. It was first reported at around 9.30am this morning (30 September).

A spokesperson for National Highways: North West said: “The M61 is closed southbound between the M6 BamberBridge and J9 Clayton Brook Interchange due to a collision.
“Emergency services are on scene.”
There are also delays on the M6 southbound due to queuing traffic attempting to join the M61.
Traffic is expected to return to normal by around 11am.
