In 2016 Rofe was ordered not to approach his then-girlfriend within 12 hours of drinking or taking drugs after an alleged incident between the pair.

In 2017 he was found guilty in Picton Court of assaulting her.

He launched an appeal after being handed a 12-month good behaviour bond and the charges were overturned.
