Luckily, the next <a href="https://www.mtlblog.com/tag/canada-child-benefit" target="_blank">Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payment</a> is coming soon, and this month's cheque could look a little different than usual.</p><p>That's because July is when the government updates your CCB amount based on <a href="https://www.mtlblog.com/tag/canada-revenue-agency" target="_blank">your 2024 income</a> — and new indexed rates are now in effect for the next 12 months.</p><p>Here's everything to know about the July 2025 CCB, from how much you could get to when it could be landing in your account.</p><h3>What is the Canada Child Benefit?</h3><br/><p>The CCB is a monthly, non-taxable payment from the federal government to help families with the cost of raising children under 18. It's meant to help with basics like food, clothing, and school supplies.</p><p>To qualify, you must:</p><ul><li>Live with and be the primary caregiver for a child under 18</li><li>Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes</li><li>Have filed your (and your partner's) 2024 tax returns</li></ul><p>If you share custody, the benefit is usually split evenly between parents.</p><p><a href="https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/child-family-benefits/canada-child-benefit-overview/canada-child-benefit-we-calculate-your-ccb.html" target="_blank">More about CCB payments</a></p><h3>How much can you get in July 2025?</h3><br/><p>The <span style="background-color: initial;">new indexed CCB rates</span> for the <span style="background-color: initial;">July 2025 to June 2026</span> period are:</p><ul><li><strong><span>$666.41/month</span></strong> per child under 6</li><li><strong><span>$562.33/month</span></strong> per child aged 6 to 17</li></ul><p>That's up from $648.91 and $547.50 in June 2025, an increase of about $17 to $19 per child, depending on age. The adjustment reflects inflation and applies to all payments going forward.</p><p>To receive the maximum amount, your adjusted family net income (AFNI) must be under $37,487.
