Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told world leaders the world is in "the most destructive arms race in history" and called on the international community to act against Russia now, asserting that Vladimir Putin wants to expand his war in Europe.
"We are now living through the most destructive arms race in history," Zelenskyy said at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
"Ukraine is only the first and now Russian drones are already flying across Europe, and Russian operations are already spreading across countries, and Putin wants to continue this war by expanding it."
Zelenskyy's comments came a day after he met with President Donald Trump, who expressed support for Ukraine's efforts and criticised Russia.
Trump said onTuesday that he believed Ukraine could win back all territory lost to Russia, a dramatic shift from the US leader's repeated calls for Kyiv to make concessions to end the war.

</blockquote><script async="" defer="" src="//platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.js"></script><p>This year's lineup includes films like <em>No Other Land</em> (winner of Best Documentary at the Academy Awards), <em>Union</em> (about union organizing at Amazon), <em>Les perdants</em> (a critical look at Canada’s electoral system), and <em>Dahomey</em> by Mati Diop.</p><p>The festival opens June 25 at Théâtre de Verdure in Parc La Fontaine with <em>The Pickers</em>, a doc exploring the struggles of migrant farm workers in Europe.The films cover timely issues like social justice, the environment, labour rights, and systemic inequality. While most of the films are in French, several are in English and many include subtitles.
