Meanwhile, two-bedroom units have a median price of $2,200, making Montreal the seventh-most expensive Canadian city to find an apartment in.

We may not be on Toronto or Vancouver's level yet, but it's far from cheap.

However, hope is not completely lost for those on a tighter budget. Montreal apartments for rent under $1,000 are undoubtedly less common than they used to be. But they are still out there — if you look hard enough.

And while pads within that price point are probably not big enough for more than one (very organized) person, they're certainly liveable, and sometimes even conveniently located.

As of February 18, 2025, here are seven apartments available for rent in Montreal that somehow charge less than four figures a month.

Note: The price shown is base rent and may not include non-optional fees and utilities.

One-bedroom in NDG

Price: $995/month

Address: 4080 Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montreal

Square footage: 380

Description: These one-bedroom apartments are located in the heart of NDG, offering convenient access to local amenities.
