Arrest made as police helicopter searches Fulwood after stab attack

A man was stabbed in the head in Fulwood during Thursday morning triggering a widescale police search.

Preston Police say the attacker and victim were known to each other and it is an ‘isolated incident’.

Emergency services were called to South Drive not far from Sharoe Green Lane at 10.03am on Thursday (23 October) to reports of an assault.

A man has been taken to hospital with a stab wound to the head although police say his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Eyewitnesses report seeing a large police presence across the Levensgarth area of Fulwood throughout Thursday morning including the police helicopter.

Police said a man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent and remains in custody.

A police spokesperson said: “This is being treated as an isolated incident between parties known to each other. However, residents will see an increased police presence in the area, as we carry out our enquiries.”
