Broughton’s Toll Bar Cottage Community Café uses these herbs and vegetables daily, with the aim of educating children nearby.
Working closely with children from the Broughton village, the group has made their own planter, along with a worm hotel.

The project fund shows children daily how food waste can be made into compost and the importance of recycling food.
Cheryl Carey, cafe manageress, said: “This has been one of the most rewarding projects during my time at the Café.
“It has brought community children together to learn and understand the importance of growing food and recycling.”
“Using the herbs and vegetables in our Café dishes has been incredible. I look forward to doing the same Summer planting next year.”
